Fact: Hot water is not always the best option for washing clothes. While high temperature helps to disinfect, hot water can cause bright colors to run and fade, and may shrink certain types of fabrics. Hot water may also damage certain synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon and vinyl.
Organic types of stains such as blood and sweat, can actually set into fabrics in hot water too. Making them even harder to remove.
