100% Cotton fabrics can shrink if not washed properly. In fact, it can shrink from anywhere from 2% – 20%. This is because, during the manufacturing process, tension is applied that stretches the yarn and fabric. When you put cotton in the washer or dryer, the heat can cause the material to shrink back to its natural size. Sometimes even direct sunlight may cause the cotton to shrink.

✅ The solution? Use cold water. Avoid putting any clothing made with cotton into hot washes, and avoid bright and direct sunlight when drying.
